For some reason, it took me forever to figure out the acronym DBM. Too many acronyms in the world, but there is no excuse for not knowing that one, as I am a Rush fan.

Thanks for this report. The work you put into it is incredible!

I've been using the acronym DBM for awhile after hearing Rush get into it. I think it's original with him. Usually I try to provide a spelled out version the first time I use an acronym in each post. I forgot this time. sorry about that.

In the IT world where I work we are swimming in acronyms. A coworker and I exchanged three very confused emails before we realized that when I mentioned VM I was talking about "virtual machines" and when he mentioned it he was talking about "virus management."

Another coworker came up with a new term several years ago. What do you call an acronym made up from other acronyms? A concacronym (concatenated acronym).

Of course, in the IT world, we don't call them acronyms. We have an acronym for it. They are mostly TLAs (three letter acronyms). ;^>
