Yes, as a matter of fact, there are playgrounds in Iraq (Please see the last photo in this series.)

I am the Civil Affairs Officer for an MP unit. I work directly with the people of Iraq. Once a week, we visit a local clinic to provide medical care, health education, clothing, shoes, food, and toys to these people.

A reporter, here, once asked me what my mission was and I told him. His next question was if I knew where the Infantry guys were. I never saw him again. The media is only interested in "guts-on-the-ground" stories. apparently "Good news is no news."

I thank you all for your support. We are all in this together. Thanks for doing your part, it makes a difference.

These two little girls adopted me.

Handing out beanie babies.

She kept trying to swing higher to reach the candy, yes, I gave it to her on the third try.

This little girl wasn't heavy enough to work the teeter-totter, so I gave her a hand. (note the sign in the background)

This is a close-up of the sign in the background and THIS IS WHY there are now playgrounds in Iraq.

If anyone is interested in sharing these pictures, feel free to copy them here, or E-mail me for the original high-resolution versions. Please do not link to the original URL. Yes, this is really me, and yes I am really here.

Thank yo So much for what you are doing! Thank you thank you thank you!

Words fail me when I think of you and people like you and what you have accomplished. You are an inspiration, you are what I tell my son he has to be if he ever wants to be a soldier, and he does! I tell him he has to be VERY VERY smart, brave, compassionate, and all of the other qualities that you and your fellow soldiers ARE every day.

Thank you so much! I truly believe it is YOU that make America great! Thank you!

PS: Welcome to FR!

Do not have the words to say how much I respect and admire our military people. They are the best in the world.

Also am not surprised at how well our soldiers relate to the Iraqi children. So many miss their children at home and these kids help fill a void for the soldiers too.

I must be getting old and mellow. Saying nice things about MP's is just not normal for guys with jump wings and CIB's, but here goes.

Thanks for the great pics,..and the very heart tugging dedication sign. This old, shot-up airborne NCO is 4plus proud of you guys on lots of levels. Hell, we all are.
