Even if Democrats have a watershed year nationwide, it probably won't happen in Texas, political experts say.

Democrats chose not to challenge Republicans in dozens of races because at the filing deadline in early January, there was no hint that Republicans would appear to be in such political peril, said Cal Jillson, a political science professor at Southern Methodist University.

"There are lots of people who don't want to walk into the airplane propeller," Jillson said.

Wished I could vote for Santorum in PA. or Steele in MD.
So pissed off at the MSM and liberal Dems with their dirty pre-election tricks. I do hope RINO Chaffee goes down in Rhode Island but that GOP keeps the senate and house.

How big a difference in just 22 years?

The very first time I voted, the situation in Texas was very much the opposite: many Democrats ran unopposed and the state was in the death grip of the 'crats.

But now?...

It should never be forgotten that one of the reasons Dems' so HATE the Bush name is that it was President Bush who took his family to Texas at a time when the Republicans could hold their State caucus in a phone booth who laid the foundations of this tumultuous shift in politics.

It was most suitable that––at the time that his son left one mansion for another––President Bush's sons had sat like like Gubernatorial bookends of the Republican South.

I hope Florida will be the same and Harris wins. My cousin told me he was at a local club in Fla. and AC/DC's Singer who often frequents the bar and sings was pulling for the GOP candidates including Harris. He was using the tax issue.

I noticed some interesting numbers today when I was voting early in Denton co.

There were 19 contested elections, and probably as many uncontested. (Didn't think to count that up)

Of the 19 contested, only 11 had democrat candidates, while 17 had Libertarian ones!

Texas has truly turned into a one-party state.

Except for a transition period from the late '70s to now, Texas has always been a state that leans towards classic American liberalism like that known by Washington, Jefferson and Adams. For a long time that was in the company of Democrats.

(Except, of course, when a native son like LBJ can hood wink us.)

What we call "liberals" these days are NOT liberals ... at best they are radicals beholden to some continental vision of federal supremacy over the People and the several States that is completely at odds with the Constitution.

At worst they are progressives who no longer look forward to any goal or landmark but now define "progress" entirely by what they aren't anymore and what they no longer do or approve of––like plowmen who only look back they wander to and fro to the demands of every social architect, pervert or murderer.

Guess this article is implying that in districts where democrats can't even get a candidate, if they had just gotten candidates this year they would be walzing to victory. I think not.
