If they're really here to attack what are they waiting for? One, two, three years maybe but no way 5 years later with their leaders getting killed on a regular basis.
The first World Trade Center attack was in 1993, the second on 9/11/01. That's 8 years, 5 years is just a drop in the bucket to these animals. The worst thing any of us can do is assume that it will not happen just because it's been 5 years since the last attack.
According to the Spiegel article "Seven Steps to a Caliphate", they are targeting 2010-2013 as the vector for a follow-up attack, which would start the middle of the next president's term. In the fourth phase, I believe "cyber-terror" and "targeting our economy" are substitute words or the real intent - nuclear attack.
From a strategic standpoint, such an attack could not be attempted unless sympathetic powers (Iran) controlled both the Peninsula and the Strait. For this reason, there is time to prepare.
They've already shown that they they are very patient & willing to take as much time as they need to accomplish their goal. The first WTC bombing was in '93. It didn't go as they planned, so they regrouped & came up with something else. Over 8 years later.

They waited more than 7 years between attacks on the World Trade Center. Why?
These guys work on a schedule all their own and think in terms of centuries not months or years. Hell they are still mad at Isaac and his descendents for stealing their birthright 5000 years ago.
