some of the early ones allow civil unions (it was a homosexual legal manuver to invalidate the amendment via a judicial manuver)
Okay I was afraid of that. I thught I remembered they were different in some States. That wouldn't qualify as a Constitutional Amendment. I wonder how many of the States that passed gay marriage bans passed the same one with the same exact language. That's something to look at and would put the power in the hands of the American people and to heck with the Congress if they don't have the spine and nerve to do what most Americans want. That's why the founders set up the Constitution the way they did.
