Murtha has not retracted his statements, and his campaign spokesman, Ed Mitchell, said he would not comment on the matter.

What can he say? These statements are just the kind of thing that will turn many of his constituents against him.

Murtha has not aired any television or radio ads, and Mitchell said the congressman plans no special campaign events this weekend.

What unmitigated arrogance. If I lived in his district I'd make this "THE" campaign issue to everyone I talked to: Jack Murtha is so smug, he doesn't even believe he has to ask for our vote.

I dunno, I guess Dems don't care as long as da Massah bring da bacon home to da plantation.

So Murtha's napping, laying low, trusting registered Dems won't bolt!

GOOD! I was making fund-raising calls Wednesday. One gentleman I spoke to, gave the absolute best diatribe I have ever heard against Murtha (hiss>. He also laid out many reasons why it is time to REDEPLOY Murtha (hiss). He has contributed to Diana in the past and promised to send more now.

I thanked him for his support and his most excellent diatribe and reasoning. His reaction?

"That's coming from a REGISTERED DEMOCRAT!"

I expressed my astonishment so he continued.
"I have been a registered democrat all my life and I am 70 years old. I have worked on 5 campaigns, all for democrats.
DIANA IREY has my vote on Tuesday!!!

Alas, though I have a peaceful heart about Diana and Rick, I can't say I'm as optimistic about Lynn's chances. If only Swann had Team Irey running his campaign.

My Western PA grandmother helped teach me manners: "Please may I?" and "Thank you for.." You don't take people for granted!

Looks like the only person with any manners in this race is Diana, who's asking "Please may I have your vote", and "Thank you for your SERVICE to our country and your SUPPORT".
