Why? The law is pretty straightforward.
If the President dies or is removed from office, the Vice President becomes President. If, before a new Vice President can be appointed accordingly to the constitutional requirements, the new President dies or is removed, the Speaker of the House becomes President. And so on with the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and then the Secretaries of the various Cabinet offices, in their respective order.
