2 years ago today: The Kerry NON-VICTORY party in Copley Square
On today's show---THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2
Howie will be broadcasting LIVE today from The Rustic Kitchen at The Radisson 57 Hotel in Park Square Boston. Come on by!!!!!!!!
1st Hour Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey battled to pin down rival Deval Patrick on taxes, crime and immigration last night, demanding that he tell the truth as she saved her strongest debate performance for their final prime-time clash. Did you watch the festivities? Do you think she can still win?
2nd Hour President Bush has hit the campaign trail for the mid term elections while Senator Kerry is still regrouping from his "botched joke". Has Kerry hurt democrats in the midterms?
3rd Hour CHUMP LINE! Call 617-779-3469 and leave Howie, Sandy or Happy a message about today's stories or anything else buzzing around your bonnet and we may play it back on the air!.
TV icon George Wendt (Norm!!!) will be with us. George is coming to Boston to star in 12 Angry Men which will be at the Colonial Theatre in Boston November 7 - 19. For tickets call Ticketmaster at 617-931-2787 or visit The Colonial Theatre box office directly.
4th HOUR Howie will be joined by FOX 25's VB and Joe Battenfeld as well as WHDH political guru Andy Hiller with a live studio audience to talk about the Massachusett's governor's race. Candidates Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey and Christy Mihos are also expected to pop by......
Got it on in the background; Rangers got an important game tonight.
1-0 up so far!
Sent Howie an e-mail regarding a UK Kerry article earlier; hope he got it.
I'll be a bit quiet till game's end.
The debates might have had more effect without Mihos -- moree time for the actual candidates, and without him aiming all his artillery at Healey.
How are things with you? :)
Doesn't look like the gubernatorial candidates will be there -- Devall as usual declined, Healey has a press conference, and Mihos is on a rock station, broadcasting -- per Howie -- to the Beavis and Butthead crowd.
But that aint all bad!
Mike Dukakis: Shrimp wrapped in balogna (baloney...)
No, you're doin their job for free!!!
Sound clip of Devall "Dukakis was a good governor in many ways." Howie: If Dukakis were an hors d'oeuvre, he'd be shrimp wrapped in baloney!
Mihos just called and said he can't make it--fundraiser or
something...
Herald:
One thing is clear after last nights final gubernatorial debate: Its time for the voting public to send Christy Mihos a message. Yes, you read that right, send him a message. His name may be on the ballot, cant stop that now, but hes going nowhere - ever.
A sensible person would have left the race long ago. But Mihos isnt by anyones definition sensible. He has been tolerated by the hosts of this years debates. He has been tolerated by his fellow candidates. But last night he went over the line, insisting its Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey who should leave the race.
What arrogance! What unmitigated gall from a know-nothing who is only in the race because he can write the checks to finance his own shabby, ego-driven effort. He should never have been allowed on the same stage as Healey and Democratic candidate Deval Patrick and last night he proved it.
By his gazillionth reference to his Massachusetts roots, even the audience was groaning.
Kitty Cocktails all around!*ducking*
Ah, Christie was a no-show on the Beavis and Butthead show too.
corrupt midget ping!
Wow ,was harsh was that from the Globe?
I thought it was a get-even-with-Healey (for something or other!)-driven effort. "Shabby" I have no quarrel with!
caller: I just pulled the Mihos for Gov sticker off my toolbox
Jumping the gun here, but mentioning the Globe: does anyone know if the Globe ran the "Jon Carry" picture?
I was just askin. I thought Howie said that blurb was from the Globe.
I didn't hear what Howie said, but raccoonradio posted the quote, naming the Herald. Which actually endorsed Healey, a week or so after running her on the front page (after some poll) with the screaming headline "Dead in the Water"! The Herald's very confused lately. ;-)
It must be a REAL tangled web up there in Boston.
Trust Howie's concerned listeners though to get their priorities straight -- the caller now is concerned about Kerry's fate should Mama T dump him. He suggests Jane Fonda -- Sandy says she's not available, but Howie knows that to a "world-class gigolo," any woman is "available." He's pushing for Christina Onassis, though.
