This was part of a pattern of behavior... That's what I figured. If you are going to be flipping people off in traffic, if you expect them to see it, it has to be a pretty much automatic act. Otherwise the finger deployment is far too late to be observed.
I always find myself two minutes later half wishing I had made a gesture to some idiot on the road. But when the person is actually there, I am too busy driving the car and looking out for traffic to bother with inter-vehicular communication.
Almost certainly, it's just as well that I am not good at multi-tasking. It limits me to doing one stupid thing at a time.

Don't do it. Its stupid and does nothing. I've seen idiot drivers chase down flippers and try to run them off the road. I'm sufficiently armed (and a good enough driver) to take care of myself, but why give lunatics an excuse.
I just laugh when I get flipped off (always for something THEY did, incidentally). It means they are a miserable person if they think a middle finger is going to mean anything to me.
