John Kerry Gaffe Touches 8th Congressional District Race

Controversy over the comment is tricking down to statewide races. Both 8th Congressional District candidates weighed in before Kerry's apology.

Steve Kagen said he didn't think Kerry needed to apologize. He responded to a reporter's question, "You'd have to ask Senator Kerry what he's thinking. You want to ask what Steve Kagen thinks, I can tell you what I think."

Kagen, a Democrat, said he thinks Kerry's comment was more about education costs than anything else, and not a slander to the troops.

Campaigning Wednesday in Gard's home territory of Lena, Coleman, and Pound, Kagen said he supports the troops himself

Ok folks........This is how to use John Kerry to help in Congressional races.....If any of you know anyone who lives in the Green Bay area please alert them to Kagen's incredible response to Kerry's 'botched joke'. This race is very close and is to replace a republican (Mark Green) in the 8th district.

My Congressman Sensenbrenner is not in any trouble, but John Gard needs our help. If you know anyone in the 8th district, they need to know their aspiring Congressman Kagen is as tone deaf at Kerry. He tried to say that Kerry was commenting about the cost of education? What a joke.

The "joke" was not about cost of education, but about "studying hard and doing your homework." The speech, by the way, was at a community college. Annual tuition at a community college usually runs at around $1,000...

A normal mainstreat Democrat. I find it incredible that we pay some of the highest taxes in the country here in Pennsylvania and I can't afford to send my kids to any of the excellent colleges in this state. Supposedly, Pennsylvania is sooooooooooo generous and helpful to college students, including a near automatic grant of $3000 to all kids who attend college here . . . but compare that to the tuition in Georgia or North Carolina where taxes AND tuition are so much lower that such government help doesn't mean a thing.

My middle daughter is attending college in Idaho where her semester tuition at a quality four year college is actually less than my oldest daughter attending a local community college here PART TIME!

"OK, the signal is weak, but I'm getting a read out now:
John Kerry was joking about the cost of education."

Thanks for you help, Gard needs every vote he can get. I hope Gard does an ad that goes along these lines.
"My opponent, Steve Kagen, is against the Patriot Act. In our recent debate, he said if he was on a plane with terrorists, he would take them out himself. Now he says John Kerry does not need to apologize to our troops, that Kerry was talking about the high cost of education. Do you trust Steve Kagen to protect our country and honor our troops in harms way? Ask yourself that before you step into the voting booth. I am John Gard, and I approved this message.

What? Where did he get that interpretation?

I just spoke with Dr Millionaires office, they claim they are not aware of him saying that. I told them to contact WBAY for false quotes then. I then proceeded to rip the volunteer a new one over the insulting nature of John Kerrys comments and Dr Kagens. I told him that my ex - honor roll husband decided in 1986 to serve his country instead of going on at that time to college. I probably didn't do anything but vent, but at least I had my say. I also told him that my son (16 years old, honor roll student) is trying to decide on an ROTC program, National Guard, or military academy, and that he has insulted us all.

I then also got in my piece about college costs, that for many middle income students the problem is that too many "under privileged" students are getting the spots.

Good job........Make sure to tell all your friends about Kagen's comments. We can turn this Kerrygate into a plus for candidates all over the country.

Wow. Big difference. It's been a long time since I spent any money on tuition. I can remember screaming bloody murder when the price per hour went from 14.00 to 16.00. I worked my way through college and was making a couple dollars per hour so it still took a lot of my salary to pay for my education.

What the US Army recruiting poster under "President" Kerry would look like:

Our brave warriors n Irak respond to Jon Carry"

Kerry is no different re his hatred of a strong America and our warriors than 99.9% of the rats in congress. Every rat running for election should have to face a copy of this banner everytime they show their treasonous faces. Pelosi, Murtha, Clintoon, Boxer, Kennedy, Durbin, Levin, Rangle, Reid and other rats in congress hate our military and a strong America. Just look at their voting records the past two years as President Bush pointed out this week.

Kerry is shown leading his fellow hate America and our military Rats to their final destination in American Politics:

Vote against all traitors, including this idiot, Steve Kagen, this election day. Support our troops and their CIC, President Bush.
