Here's something nobody is talking about. Who was he giving this speech to? COLLEGE STUDENTS....College students who laughed at what he said. The truth is that he said what he said to ingratiate himself with liberal college students who really do believe that only stupid kids only go to Iraq.
His explanation makes no sense. He was speaking before a group of college students. Typically a liberal group of people. Sometimes even a group hostile to the military. It's obvious he was trying to score points in that environment with that particular group and that potential mindset. You're toast Lurch.
