WASHINGTON - The White House and Sen. John Kerry traded their harshest accusations since the 2004 presidential race on Tuesday, with President Bush accusing the Democrat of troop-bashing and Kerry calling the president's men hacks who are willing to lie.

White House press secretary Tony Snow was asked about Kerry's comment at his regular briefing with reporters, and had clearly come prepared with a lengthy attack. He said the quote fits a pattern of negative remarks about U.S. soldiers from the decorated Vietnam veteran and suggested that whether Democratic candidates - particularly those running on their military service backgrounds - agree with their 2004 standard-bearer should be a campaign litmus test. Bush, campaigning later in Georgia, said Kerry's statement was insulting and it is shameful. The members of the United States military are plenty smart and they are plenty brave and the senator from Massachusetts owes them an apology,

Other Republicans issued demands for an apology from Kerry. GOP Sen. John McCain, like Kerry a decorated Vietnam veteran and a potential 2008 rival, said while campaigning for Republican candidates in Indiana that the suggestion that only the least educated Americans would agree to serve in the military and fight in Iraq is an insult to every soldier serving in combat today. Added House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., struggling to keep his party in control of Congress: Our soldiers risk their lives in the face of grave dangers on the battlefield, and no one who chooses to courageously and selflessly defend our country can be considered 'uneducated."

EXCELLENT! Could of made it all go away with just a smidgen of humlity at the Press Conference but NO Kerry was far too arrogant for that.
There they go again, bickering like children, according to the DBM.
Lie? Pssst, hey Johnny boy. We all saw/heard the tape.
Another friggin story from the MSM attempting to deflect Kerry's remarks onto Bush.
That Jennifer Loven is on top of this. Isnt she? Crock
Jennifer Loven is leading the pack of MSM dirtbags rushing to unbutton Kerry's trousers.
In Georgetown's East Village, Roger Ballentine and his wife Jennifer Loven have sold their quaint two bedroom semi- detached Federal house at 1346 29th Street, N.W.
Roger Ballentine is president of Green Strategies, a consulting firm specializing in energy and environmental issues, and was previously deputy assistant to President Clinton for environmental initiatives and chairman of the White House Climate Change Task Force. He also sits on the board of directors of Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF)along with actors Ed Begley, Jr. and Larry Hagman. Jennifer Loven is a reporter for the Associated Press.

It's election year and what better way to distract voter in both parties from the major issues facing the nation come election time than to involve the nation in a ridiculous dispute which is solely meant to distract voters and gain allegiances for political parties sake. No meaningful security at our nations border while thousands pour in bringing in thugs, disease, crime, and new welfare cases or cheap labor to put Americans out of work. Of course I didn't mention the potential for terrorist crossing as well. No indeed we're too busy searching granny at the airport making sure her face cream or denture adhiesive isn't a liquid bomb.
Our government is much too busy creating the biggest social spending programs since The Great Society at the expense of our national defense and security but that goes unreported as well. Neither party wants to discuss it because both are promoting it. What do we get instead. Two simpletons in high offices having kindergarten level disputes. Yea if anyone thinks either the DEMs or GOP in power is really upset over Kerry's remarks I have a bridge in NYC for sell. Both parties would rather engage the nation in such stupid headlines as this rather than address the issues they in both parties created and then ignore.
