Early voting is up statewide (Up 45% in TN)

Early voting is up by about 45 percent across Tennessee, according to the state elections coordinator. Meanwhile, Summer Leverette, deputy administrator of elections in Bedford County, says 3,135 had voted by 9:15 this morning.

That's out of 21,096 registered voters here.

"Early voting is heavier than it's been," reports Brook Thompson, the state's elections coordinator, who's compared early voter turn out through Saturday to a similar period of time during early voting four years ago.

Bedford County's early voting poll closes at 5 p.m. today and tomorrow. Thursday is the last day to vote early. Early voting is in the basement of the Bedford County Courthouse.

Election day is Tuesday next week.

You've made my day, both with your prediction and your screen name. I hope you're right. Back in the day I dated a girl from a very democratic family. Her father, however, voted for Reagan. I'm paraphrasing after all these years, but he said 'It doesn't matter what kind of labor contract you get if the country is not safe.'. I hope there are a lot of democrats, or at least some, who have the same take this time around.

I have very liberal in-laws, and although I love them dearly, one thing I notice is that they just assume everyone must "know" what they do and if you don't you're either ignorant or bigoted. A lot of people are not crazy about the GOP, but they dislike and distrust the Dems far more. That's my opinion ahyhow...
