“Doing a Job American Politicians Refuse To Do.”

www.texasbordervolunteers.org

Thanks to John D. and others, the website is up and running. Pictures from our Oct 2006 watch can be viewed at the site along with many links, additional information on upcoming registrations and fees, upcoming mini ops and a DLW that will be set up in the near future.

Mark your calendars for Nov. 30th – Dec 3rd for an upcoming mini TBV operation. New volunteers must have had a background check completed (or CHL) and vetted before attending.

Traffic has indeed slowed down but with veteran border watch volunteers, dedication and great equipment we were influential in the sightings that led to a large apprehension rate by BP. Ranch security of 2 large neighboring ranches, BP and law enforcement have expressed their gratitude towards our operations. Thumbs up from the Border Patrol helicopter pilots after we directed them to some illegals was viewed by some of TBV scouts. That was a great feeling for those that have worked so hard to make this a success.

Approximately 245 illegals reported

Border Patrol apprehends over 100

Many good things came from our new group. Excellent working relationship with law enforcement and heads of security on two large South Texas ranches, cohesiveness among the volunteers and new associations made with American Border Patrol.

Big news should be following about Am. Border Patrol coming to help out in the future. Do they have some major technology, or what? Just ask Jean S. she was fortunate enough to fly with them as a spotter.

Dimmitt County Sheriff, Doug Samples, received a donation from our group of one lovely Bloodhound named Strike, kennel built by TBV and training. Joe Skeleton, Deputy Sheriff of Dimmitt County will be Strikes handler. Many pictures are available on TBV site. A puppy run exercise was done. Strike started his career on an excellent note. It was truly an exciting time to watch this young dog trail a scent.

Larry Y. attends Shelley Sekula-Gibbs for Congress (District 22) fund raising luncheon. TBV donated the funds for Larry to attend the function. Here is an except from Larry on Shelley: “She did help us to almost block the city of Houston's funding of the illegal Day Labor Camp in downtown Houston…. She came to the Falfurrias ranches, riding around with our scouts to see first-hand and understand the problem, our limited efforts of spot and report to restrict the flood. She then went on to see the border and learn there - onsite and from the sheriffs the increasing violence near the border….”

Salvation Army forms and “goodie” bags were found on property. Two illegal aliens had stayed and worked at the shelter in McAllen, Tx. and then moved up to enter our country in a criminal manner. Thank you, David B. for finding such incriminating material. See pictures on our website of all items found Here is an except from Dave’s journal: “Yesterday afternoon while scouting areas where illegal aliens hide during daylight hours, my team found some disturbing material. Before they make their last dash from the countryside to meet a pre-arranged coyote “ride’ on the highway, the illegal aliens get rid of any stuff that will give away their true status… Among the discarded clothing, knapsacks and other stuff we found paper documents and other physical evidence that some individuals in a particular group had spent some days staying in the Salvation Army facility in McAllen, Tx. Evidently ‘holing up’ with the help of the Salvation Army while making final arrangements and preparations to penetrate and disappear into the heart of the United States.”

Gary H. and Dick L. had a face to face with a coyote early in the morning while on post. This coyote also had night vision. This should remind us all that these illegals and the human smugglers CAN be brazen as well as dangerous.

A German media group toured our operations and surveyed damage done by illegal aliens. TBV fence crew was hard at work on a damaged fence on one of the ranches we patrol. This is but one of the services we try to provide.

On Wednesday, October 31st,Robert Block, Homeland Security Correspondent with the Wall Street Journal was given a tour and update on our TBV operations. This was done at the request of the Governors office of Homeland Security. Dr. Vickers also gave an interview to Telemundo later that evening.

T-shirts, caps and Texas Border Volunteers pins will be available on the website. Come participate in an upcoming border watch and/or DLW and receive your silver Texas star TBV pin. An antique brass version of this pin will be available for purchase on our site and at gun shows.

Thanks to all for the participation and commitment!

Okay Swinney, tell me about your handle.

When I was very young, my grandparents would take me someplace they called "sweeny switch". All I can remember is a house on a lake, not far from Corpus Christi.

Swinney Switch is near Lake Corpus Christi. Take Exit 47 on I-37 between Corpus and San Antonio. The big thing this weekend is the Storyfest at George West.
