I didn't see that at all. I got that she was relatively normal looking and still couldn't attract males --- and she was looking at the common reasons (wrong reasons, IMHO, but pretty women certainly have an advantage in this regard) women blame on not being able to find a mate.

Yes and further down in the article she sees through introspection, that she wasn't trying, did she not? She had other interests that kept her busy, and in some cases stayed away from the whole scene subconsciously or not, sort of on purpose.

A lot of women look back and remember an awkward shyness during high school. Most do not fully blossom until after high school in fact.
