I had a gay friend, an ex-Mennonite minister, who said he was regarded as Mr. Ethics in his gay circle because he was not promiscuous. Since I knew him well enough to know that there was a constant stream of young guys who apparently overnighted in his apartment, I must have given him a raised-eyebrow and a "Heh."

"No, really," he said, a little indignant. "I always know their names."

Wow, that is inspiring to see such chaste and respectful behavior. . . it is a pretty sad commentary on the state of the lives of that group. Mr one-nighter who knows the names is the exception?
