I recall in 2004 we were admonished to appreciate and value Kerry's capacity for intelligent, nuanced speech.
Perhaps Kerry was just being nuanced in his remarks; still, I don't see whatever subtlety he intended.

I figured it out but it took some thinking. Like everyone else, and many there apparently, according to the Boston Globe, I took it as a slap at our military. I later came to see how he could think the 'getting stuck in Iraq' part was a reference to the President, not the military. In effect, if you don't get a good education, work hard and be successful, you may wind up like the President.

For a guy who's supposed to be nuanced, this is just plain careless and open for misinterpretation. If he's so nuanced, why didn't he realize this before he said it. Why didn't his writers? Why didn't his handlers?

No, I don't think anyone cared whether it was misinterpreted or not. If understood correctly, fine. If misinterpreted as a slap at the troops, fine. Either way, it's true Kerry. A royal scumbag and POS.

That's what I've been saying. Kerry is supposed to be a supreme orator, on par with Slick Willie himself! And has anyone else besides me checked out the people behind the Flip Flopper when he said that? There was one girl who was sort of grinning and looking around like she was thinking "did he just say what I think he said?"
