You're right that Barone was tougher, and indeed was unusual in his demeanor. But we agree that McCain is the media darling, and he is now a pit bull on this one. I must confess that I'm prepared to give him another look if he persists in skewering Kerry (and thereby the Dems). McCain could well turn this election around. (But I'd love for Rove to start running ads that do two things. 1) String together all the Dem quotes badmouthing our troops (eg. Durbin), ending with the latest Kerry misstep. And 2) constantly replay Reid saying "we killed the Patriot Act." When or when will the Reps start playing these tapes.)

That would be AWESOME.
They couldn't have done that 2 weeks ago because the Republicans were scrambling to distance themselves from Iraq. But this Kerry thing is really reminding people why they can't freakin' stand the guy.

I agree. A collage of outrageous statements shown over and over again in all markets is what's needed. Let their own words do them in.
