After following all this for 2 days, I agree with Matthews. Kerry hasn't handled it well at all though.
You agree with what part of what Matthews said?
I agree with Matthews..... Ummm, You can't read or hear too well? I feel sorry for you.
Even if Kerry simply made a stupid mistake and really did intend only to make a lame and stupid 'stupid Bush' joke rather than slur the intelligence of people who choose to follow the path of America's military service, I see no reason to let him off the hook. Even if that were the case (and I'm not convinced that it is), it is so sickening to see the lefties (such as Kerry) claiming ad nauseum that Bush lied, Bush is stupid, Bush is Hitler, when the truth is that he is/did none of the above, that I'm all in favor of milking Kerry's gaffe as much as possible. He and they richly deserve every bit of scorn that is being heaped on them. The Demo/Commie crybabies can dish it out, but they sure can't take it...
Kerry's "joke" was what you call a Freudian slip - a remark intended one way that inadvertently reveals a deeper truth. In this case, the truth is that Kerry's a sneering, contemptuous snob who truly believes he's superior and the rest of us are dirt. This reminder of his true nature - and the real philosophy of most of his fellow liberals - is what's hurting him, and them, and not so much the substance of his remarks. And his angry tantrum/press conference non-apology is just icing on the cake.
