"What is it about the Freeper class of 98 that they seem to think rabid negativity is some how a sign of intellectual merit?"
Watch and see... How many times has Bush had an opportunity to nail the other side, and pulled his punches?

He is the Commander In Chief and needs to defend his troops against this obvious slap.

The President needs to continue to fire up the base and no doubt Tony Snow will have crafted an artful comment for him. This keeps loser Kerry in the headlines which is all good.No doubt in my mind that Tony is the one behind this. I'm really curious to see what tone he uses.
Will it be red meat for the base? Will it be the new tone?
I agree that this moment may decide a few races out there.

this may have already been mentioned elsewhere but i saw Brit Hume on Fox after Kerry said he would not apologize remind the audience (paraphrasing now) that Kerry had voted twice to authorize troops for Iraq.

Dems and their big, lying, treasonous mouths. The gift that keeps on giving.

Maybe the White House (aka Toney Snow & Rove) has decided to keep this one alive. I hope so. But it will be a first. What ever happened to the Reid land deal? Conservatives are too nice. We take the libs' crap and never take the offense.

OK Mr Pres,
You always wear those sh!t kickers, NOW is the time to use them. Do not let this disgraceful remark go unchallenged. Call for an immediate and FULL apology to be followed by his resignation. Let him know that it is the ONLY way to show that he does support the troops and does love America.

why reply at all? Let Kerry fumble and flounder and maybe shoot himself in the foot again. Keep the spotlight on him.
This DOES keep the Spotlight on Kerry, AND it allows the President to be Presidential, defending the honor of the United States Military.

A grown up is responding to John Kerry's tirade!
President Bush will be responding at 5PM (EDT) per Fox News.
To: txroadkill
Maybe the best thing W can do is address our military directly.
Don't acknowledge Kerry. Treat him as if he is dead, insignificant.
Then apologize to the military for the disrespect some in Washington blatantly and repeatedly show for them.
Tell them to keep in mind the Country is behind them and most leaders in Washington are behind them and respect them as the best America has to offer.
Never mention Kerry's name.

As Commander in Chief, Bush should respond to the insult on our troops. He should also call for Kerry's resignation. He's responding to an idiot, and can do nothing but help Kerry out of his predicament by giving him a target.
To: 1Old Pro
I can see both sides here (respond/not respond). If Bush does respond, he needs to do so in a calm and restrained manner to contrast Kerry's demeanor.

I leave work at 5:00. Do you think I'll get the Pres's statement later? Maybe Mark Levin will play it.

that's exactly correct..all those people on the fence who fiercly support the troops SHOULD be outraged enough that their minds are now made up now that the TRUE character of skerry and the dems has come crystal clear, especially with the DU applauding skerry for his address..
I think close races are now going to swing to the reps..
