It was a defiant statement that brought the entire media's focus on the tired charge that this administration is a failure. It was an act of pure political idiocy. The GOP is gonna have a field day with this. The only challege facing them is how to distill it all into a 30-second commercial, given the vast amount of material Kerry just gave them.

Well, I hope you're right, but I didn't see him compound the damage wrought on him or the democrats.
I saw a democratic campaign commercial disguised as a press conference.

I got the impression that Kerry was vastly annoyed to have to do something so mundane as to address the issue.
It was all IIIII will not apologize. Bush should apologize.
He kinda stretches out the I... amazed he doesn't use the royal 'We.'
