Parsing JK's response:
If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq [e.g. Murtha, Kerry, Cleland] and not the president who got us stuck there [Did you vote for or against the war in Iraq? I can't remember.], they're crazy [Since most Vets seem to think Kerry did criticize those serving Iraq, is Kerry now saying that they're not only stupid, but also crazy?]. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. [What? To get you to say something stupid?] Im sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks [I'm picturing Daffy Duck saying this.] that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war [Like McCain?], but love to attack those who did [Talk to the Swift Boat Vets].
Im not going to be lectured [John - "I do the lecturing around here!"] by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium [Wow. What a brutal put down. You're such a big man John.], or doughy Rush Limbaugh [Seriously? That's the best you've got??], who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Foxs Parkinsons disease [John - "Will someone please help me change the subject?"] to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq [Wow - that sounds an awful lot like the "classic Dem playbook".]. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country [Who are you talking about John? Which hacks??] lie and distort [By emailing to all the other "Republican hacks" the video clip of your comments"] so blatantly and carelessly about those who have [Again, talk to the Swift Boat Vets.].
The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney [Can't leave him out of this!] who misled America into war [Dem playbook] and have given us a Katrina foreign policy [A what??? I think John may have just coined a new Dem phrase to be added to the "classic Dem playbook"] that has betrayed our ideals [Are you talking about the hurricane? Or the war? I'm lost now.], killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it [Nice one John. Subtle reference to the National Security Estimate. Smooth. ;) ]. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops ["And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the--of--the historical customs, religious customs." Bob Schieffer interview with Senator John Kerry on "Face the Nation" on December 4, 2005], not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.
Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because theyre afraid to debate real men [Or perhaps because they pose more of a challenge than you.]. And this time it wont work because were going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. [Cue the video
] No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan [When did our troops leave Afghanistan??] and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq [What? Is that two new phrases John? You're on quite a roll!].
You leave out the best part of that quote... the very next thing he said -- "The Iraqis ought to be doing that."
So he thinks if you have "worn the uniform" you can say whatever negative things/untruths about the troops you want to and it is okay?
