Tamzee, you're right...these days, the "Purists" would call Reagan a 'sell-out'
The reason? Well, those to the right of the political spectrum have gotten spoiled by the post-Reagan era. They do not recall the sheer horror of the 1970's and what it was like to live in a nation that was headed down the drain and into the scrap heap of history. They think the 1990's and Clinton were bad...as awful as Clinton was I could suffer 8 years of Clinton and his "third way" nonsense rather than ONE DAY of the Jimmy Carter years and true left wing Democratic ideals. I truly believe that too many of us were either too young or perhaps not even alive during those dark days of the 1970's, and that is starting to hurt this nation. Sadly, I AM old enough to have lived through the 1970's and I have no interest in EVER suffering through that again.
Not only do I not want to suffer through that again, also, I don't think that America would survive it given our current circumstances. We're fighting to save the country from total evil battling international fronts and half of the country internally... we all have to stick together on the right or America falls :-(
