Elton John Gives $20,000 To Fight Gay Marriage Ban

(AP) MADISON -- Rock music legend Elton John has donated $20,000 to a group trying to defeat a proposed constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage in Wisconsin, according to a campaign filing on Monday. Voters will decide the issue Nov. 7.

John made the donation to Fair Wisconsin Oct. 23, according to its report with the state Elections Board.

The donation was among those that helped the group raise $2.5 million between July 1 and Oct. 23.

The group has been running television advertisements noting that the proposed amendment would also ban civil unions comparable to marriage, which critics say would threaten benefits for all unmarried couples -- gay and straight.

The filing cited "privacy reasons" in withholding John's address -- a filing requirement made of other donors.

John, 59, is a longtime gay rights activist who lives in Britain. He exchanged vows with his longtime partner, Canadian filmmaker David Furnish, in a civil ceremony last year.

That's pretty cheap for a guy with his bucks.

$20,000 doesn't go very far these days. Just ask the Klintoons. E J is just a pissant on a dung dump. That $20,00 will be stolen before it get's spent on anything that might help their failed effort.

What is it with all these foreigners wanting to have a say in our political process. Why do they care.

This has been the case since the 2000 elections especially on the issues of gay marriage and taxes. If the federal government recognised gay marriage, Fiance and Marriage visas would be easy to get. Also, the more Americans pay in taxes, they feel their nation would benefit in money the US may give to their nations.

That wouldn't be instant gratification, a trait many homosexuals can't live without.

"This has been the case since the 2000 elections "

Plus the 2004 elections is when I think it really showed just how hysterical these people are about controlling the lives of others. Makes me thankful that George Washington and our other Founding Fathers did what they did.

And as the article states this was an event to raise money to fund a campaign to lower the age of homosexual consent laws to 16. Not heterosexual but exclusively homosexual. Oh but they are not more prone, as a sexual orientation, to engage in underage sex. Snicker.

"What is it with all these foreigners wanting to have a say in our political process. Why do they care. Let them petition their own countries for there favorite issues and stay out of our business."

Isn't there a law against foreigners interfering with our political process?

That aside, I wonder how this issue squares with the large amount of Muzzies in Wisconson? Will they "take one up the @ for the team"? or vote against it? Perhaps the "closet queens" which are numerous in the Muslim community will keep their options open, unfortunately.

The heterosexual age of consent is already 16. And there is no age of consent for lesbians.

Wonder where Elton got the money to donate? Just read he is now in debt to the tune of $27 Million Pounds, roughly $50 Million plus. Boy needs to cut down on that spending.

The word on the street (Castro Street in San Francisco, where else?!) is that he borrowed it from Jacko.
