What a bunch of sellouts! We knew that Rupert Murdock was hosting Hillary Clinton but for their usually reliable editorial board to completely sell out is trully irresponsible and a disservice to its mostly conservative readership. The Post states that "Spitzer is a Democrat, and a resolutely liberal Democrat at that". No kidding: the guy will push for gay marriage and is an ardent supporter of partial birth abortion. They also state that John Faso, his Republican opponent for governor "is a man of principle who values lower taxes - would that Spitzer had half of Faso's commitment to tax cuts - and responsive government. . . but even if he were to win, he'd be a Republican in an overwhelmingly Democratic state, struggling mightily to do he most basic things . . . " - so, let's just throw him overboard, coronate Eliot Spitzer the Bully and jump on the Spitzer bandwagon! As for the Hillary Clinton endorsement, I will say that the GOP should have run a stronger candidate - Peter King might have been such candidate - but actually endorsing Madame Hillary reflects badly on the kool-aide that the Post editorial board has been drinking. The woman is a fake who will do anything, who will say anything. She has also not delivered on her promises to New York State. Enough!
Do you have a link for this?
Thanks
George Pataki has managed to kill off what was left of the Republican party in NY. I doubt that Republican candidates will even be fielded in future NY statewide elections. The Post is merely adjusting to the new reality.
Newspapers are more intereted in endorsing winners than good candidates.
New York state is heading back to the dark ages again. Spitzer as governor, Cuomo as AG, Chuckie and Hillery as Senators. Welfare moms, unions, criminals and Al Qaeda are jumping for joy over the direction the state will be heading for the next 4-8 years.
Regards, Ivan
The people of New York take this journey to the dark side as evidence of their own unique genius. New York is the center of the universe, doncha know?
Thanks - I really stink at this stuff!
IF you reread the endorsements the Post really does not have very good things to say about Spitzer or Hillary but endorses them anyway! Essentially they are saying "we can't endorse Faso because he can't win". However, the Sun did endorse Faso showing that THEY AT LEAST HAVE GUTS AND INTEGRITY!!!!!!
So basically they are saying that Spencer is not "credible" and Herself is??? You mean, Hillary the Yankee fan?
And that she's so great, we need her here in the Senate for 12 more years.
I am dumbfounded, sickened and have lost total respect for my NY Post.
Here's the editorial link:

blech---no one reads that tabloid trash anyway
I will vote for Spencer: but I do think the GOP could have found a stronger candidate such as Peter King. King should have run against chuckie Schmuckie Schumr. The State party just lets the Demos walk all over us.
The fact that a newspaper endorses anyone is a sham. They are supposed to report and not editorialize.
I believe this is called "caveat emptor". And don't forget the constant shilling for Chuckie Schumer who called Rick Santorum "out of the mainstream". This from Charles, the avid supporter of partial birth abortion, who would not support John Roberts or Sam Alito. We don't all live in Park Slope, you know.
They also could have just plain "abstained" from endorsing anybody this year.
Quote: "Welfare moms, unions, criminals and Al Qaeda are jumping for joy over the direction the state will be heading for the next 4-8 years."
Al Qaeda is jumping for joy because they won't have to target NY any longer. Spitzer and gang will destroy it for them.
I could not have said that better myself. He has to get a crown fitted for his big bald head, that Spitzer!
