Biggest problem the police department here has, besides the politicians, is the recent incorporation of the transit police into their ranks.

A Virginia couple stopped to ask directions, and ended up arrested by a transitory cop with an attitude. In Spider Robinson's phrase, not enough brains to keep her ears apart.

They wanted to leave town, and she probably didn't know how.

I was killing some time and this cop was putting
a ticket on the car...I said.."Give a Sr. Citizen
a break?" He kept writing a ticket, I told him he
is disgrace to the uniform, he wrote another ticket for
bald tires, I called him a nasty name..He wrote another
ticket....The car had a sign on it..Hillary- '08. I
caught the next bus home...not my car..not my tickets-
Sometimes us Sr. Citizens do crazy things?? Jake

Wasn't that stupid?

I couldn't believe how much garbage we have worrying about petty problems and traffic BS (seatbelts, anyone?) but heavens the cops should have to track down a real criminal!
