St. Louis makes the top of the list because they have a small incorporated city with all the social ills that implies with huge suburbs that are NOT part of the city surrounding it.

It's accurate....and it's not.

Same is true of Cincinnati and even Cleveland. Cleveland proper, plus a couple old inner east-side suburbs (E. Cleveland, Euclid) are pretty rough, but the majority of the metro is quite safe.

Yes, the suburbs are COMPLETELY divorced from the city of St. Louis, particularly as it relates to crime statistics. Even much of the city itself is undergoing a renaissance, which is in many ways curbing crime in those areas.

This statistic is due to the behavior of the....ummmm....usual suspects in a very limited area on the city's north side.
