I was literally gobsmacked reading this earlier over breakfast!
Although you two likely know as much, Michelle Mandel is the Toronto Sun's long-time resident bleeding heart.
Normally, a Mandel column bemoans the sorry plight of a 'poor single mom' or anyone else whom her left-of-center, quasi-feminist worldview defines as a 'victim' while never entertaining any notion their supposed misfortune might be even in part self-inflicted.

Hey, glad to see it but, for this writer, supporting the troops & bashing red Jack Layton couldn't possibly be more out of character!
