What Hes Trying to Say
By BEN WALLACE-WELLS
The White House, like any castle, has its own peculiar rituals, and in the five months that Tony Snow has been President George W. Bushs press secretary, he has begun to learn them.

...a man named Lester Kinsolving, a radio host and reporter for a Baltimore station with a big grin and game-show-host wavy hair, will interrupt a back-and-forth on, say, the operational capacities of Al Qaeda to read confounding questions he has written out, word for word, before the press briefing began.
Tony, Kinsolving began one morning in September, The Washington Times noted on Page 1 that the Congressional Black Caucus will remain exclusively black. Does the president support or oppose this racial segregation, which excluded California Congressman Pete Stark who risked his life for civil rights in Mississippi because Stark was born white?
Snow grinned and shook his head and began to point to some other reporter, any other reporter.
No, wait a minute, Kinsolving said, are you just going to evade that question?
No, Snow said, beginning to laugh, enjoying the exchange, his deep voice booming, Im going to laugh at it. He did. So did the rest of the room.
Snow, who is 51, is 6-foot-4, with a genial lectern slouch and a chin that looks as if it were built for contact. But the first thing you notice about him is his facility at managing the fragile balance of a press room, its constant teeter between sincerity, open hostility and absurdity.

"For it to be positive, Snow must have told them -- off the record -- that he's pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, pro-amnesty (actually I think he has said as much on this one), and anti-Second Amendment."
He was slamming the NYT, not Snow.
Sheesh.
The insinuation was that Tony is not up front and honest. If sarcasms was his intent fine, but if it was is was thinly veiled.
Trying to slam both IMO. Tony would not do that.
I love Tony too, but it I think the sarcasm was pretty obvious.
Thanks for the ping a ling, saveliberty. What a terrific article about Tony Snow. Never thought I'd every agree with an article in the New York Times. For once they got it right!
:-) You're welcome GoldwaterChick! Maybe it's their Halloween edition? LOL
Or maybe desperate to get some readership back, they decide to write the attached (offset by thousands of BDS "articles").
See? Fair and Balanced.

LOL
This has to be the funniest story to ever appear on Free Republic. And in the middle of a thread on a real gentleman of class and dignity, the Clintons are shown for the sleazy characters they really are. Which makes more outrageous the attacks their syncophant media followers continue to make on Tony every chance they get. Thanks for this one, saveliberty--let's pass it on to everyone we know. Hopefully it will get back to the Clintons. :)
WOOF!
Thanks for the ping, saveliberty.
I brought along my tagline too. ;-)
I'll bet you that Monica Lewinsky is not the only White House intern that serviced the president on her knees in the Oval Office ante room.
LOL
And she is spending herself silly on a race that she's clearly going to win. LOL Employee Assistance programs are there for her.
LOL
Bwhahahahahahhahaha!
Great tagline, pinz!
And I'll bet that they put out the Monica story to distract us from the *real* scandals that were about to break! ;-)
As is yours! :-)
Tee Hee! you're the greatest! {;0)
I know. That's why I do it. {;0)
