"Stem cells" are like "global warming". Both share words for a science issue that has a parallel political/ideological issue that is totally disconnected from the science.

The issue known as "global warming" is not about climate change. It is about increased control, big and Bigger government, higher costs, fewer consumer choices, less liberty.

The issue known as "stem cells" is not about finding cures for horrible diseases. It is really only about propping up the flagging justifications for allowing unrestricted abortion.
