The real issue here is if these folks had NOT been involved with drugs, they would not have been in the situation they are in. No, the real issue is the unnecessary violence. I remember a retired black pastor in Boston who died in one of these raids. They had the wrong house.
I remember an east coast southern couple with a dog being pulled over in their car and their dog shot as the cops chased after a fictitious robbery based on a phone call from an idiot.
I remember four plain clothes cops (three of which were rookies) pumping 41 bullets into a black man as he tried to get into his apartment building. They thought his keys were a gun.
None of these cops were ever were punished. In the dreaded private sector, you always get punished for your mistakes. This is not the case for public workers.

I remember an east coast southern couple with a dog being pulled over in their car and their dog shot as the cops chased after a fictitious robbery based on a phone call from an idiot. >p?happened right here in cookeville, tn. family, with kids (grandma?) and their beagle type dog, left the wallet on the roof of the car when leaving a gas station in Nashville. Had good amt of cash in it (on vacation), so its assumed they perpetrated a robbery that had happened. APB goes out on the car, gets pulled over 60 miles east in cookeville. Some office cop was out with the regular patrol guys. They've got dad on his knees with guns drawn on him, family trying to keep dog in car (all this from dashboard camera). They tell them he's just a puppy, etc, family is scared to death. Puppy jumps out, bounds around like a normal puppy; tounge lollng out, bouncing around with tail wagging. office cop squeals like a little girl and blows the dog away, right in front of the young boy. I think they did get a civil settlement out of it, but as a matter of law, no harm to officer.
