Lace your garbage with some drugs, phone in an anonymous tip to the police that you are a dealer, and you too can have masked, armed men destroy your house. I hope you aren't a gun owner with fast reflexes who, knowing he/she is innocent of criminal activity, assumes the armed men are criminals and tries to defend him/herself.
That happened here not too long ago (TN). Cops got the address wrong, broke into an elderly couple's home, and the man was shot dead trying to defend his wife. Oh well, so sorry. We were following protocol, after all.

Not the only raid on an innocent homeowner due to wrong information. I am not sure if there is a site that tracks these incidents but I bet it would make interesting reading.
I remember that incident. There are far too many of these incidents I read every week.
This story never explained how officers found "traces of cocaine and marijuana" in the trash. Do these weekend warriors go around digging through people's trash now?
We can't arrest and deport millions of illegal aliens here commiting crimes, or solve murders, etc., because we are busy digging in people's trash looking for a marijuana cigarette and shooting people's dogs?
