BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: All right, the flap over the Michael J. Fox commercial continues. It will not die down. The story is that I am out of control. The real story is and the fact is, the Drive-By Media, folks, has devolved into an hysterical mob. I'm going to explain why here in just a second, but before we go to the audio sound bites to set up the opening monologue in the program today, I want to get one thing straight. We had a call yesterday, and I dealt with it yesterday, and I will deal with it again today as often as I have to, because there is an irresponsible charge and an irresponsible misuse of video from my Dittocam here.

Rush made a mistake by insisting Fox was acting, instead of just focusing on the inaccurate substance of the ads and using the sick to get votes democrats don't deserve, For example, in Md. (as Rush pointed out poignantly today) the REPUBLICAN has a a sister with MS and favors stem cell research, whereas the democrat has voted against it! But Rush never was going to be able to prove Fox was acting, and Rush frankly has apologized for it.

I think it was brilliant unintended but brilliant.
Look at all it accomplished...

It has caused dozens of MSM liars to focus on Rush exclusively.

That takes focus off of the "Foley Scandal."

It brings attention to stem-cell research. Which carries with it the potential to find out that embryonic SCs have yielded 0 results and adult SC and umbilical SC research has yielded as many as 80 therapies.

It carries the potential to enlighten thousands of MO voters that the ballot initiative there is about cloning and not SCs.

It brings thousands of people to the RL show looking for ammo against him who will find everything they've heard about him is BS.

It carries the potential to enlighten thousands of Americans that embryos are living human beings that will be destroyed for research.

It carries the potential to enlighten thousands of people that if even one cure or viable therapy is ever developed from embryonic SCs then the demand for embryos will soar into the tens or hundreds of thousands.

Rush takes the heat for popping the liberal balloon of victim-hood exploitation which makes it easier for everyone else to find a pair and call the libs out on it in the future.

It's a great thing! Rush plays the libs and the press like a fiddle. : )

Yahoo's take on it all, with GOP losing of course!

Actor Fox's Ads Hurting GOP, Says Study

Michael J. Fox's political commercials supporting embryonic stem cell research may be harming Republicans according to a study conducted earlier this week and reported today (Friday) by CNSNews.com, a unit of the conservative Media Research Center. According to the study by HCD Research and Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion, support for such research increased from 78 percent overall to 83 percent after those surveyed viewed the ad by Fox, whose Parkinson's symptoms are apparent in it. The survey also concluded that Republican respondents' support for a Republican candidate decreased by 10 percent after seeing the ad while Independents' support for Democrats grew by 10 percent. Meanwhile, in an appearance on the CBS Evening News Thursday, Fox denied that charges by conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh that he had stopped taking his medications in order to exaggerate his Parkinson's symptoms. The medication, he pointed out, counteracts the rigidity of Parkinson's and allows him to speak. "The irony of it is that I was too medicated," he told anchor Katie Couric. "Would you support a Republican candidate?" Couric asked later. "I've campaigned for Arlen Specter, the Republican Senator from Pennsylvania who supports stem-cell research." (Fox also portrayed a conservative preppie on the long-running Family Ties TV series.)

From the article you posted ...

Michael J. Fox's political commercials (they got that right) supporting embryonic stem cell research (Oops, that's wrong. MJF didn't ever mention ESC research. He left it vague and undefined by only saying "stem cell") may be harming Republicans according to a study ... (I doubt it.)

Hundreds of thousands of Bible Belt Christians have just been informed about the deception occurring in MO. Many were fed up with spineless Socialist-Lite Republicans and weren't going to bother to vote. They will now.

Fox was definitely acting in the video. If not, how many takes does he have to make on any given scene in "Boston Legal" to make it look normal?

Of course he was acting. But Rush wasn't going to prove it. Rush thought he had him about not taking his meds, but in that case it isn't an "act". Rush should have stuck to the substance and not accused Fox of faking the symptoms. Hard to say which way this one will cut.

Rush said MJFox was EITHER acting or off his meds...

Turns out, MJFox said he had TOO MANY MEDS..

Rush spoke about this today.

The REAL issue is, the LameStreamBiasedBootlicking Lapdog Demo Media is talking about what RUSH said and NOT about the lies in the political ad.

FOX IS A PARTISAN LIBERAL and is happy to prostitute himself in any way he can to 'get a veto proof' margin so they can get FEDERAL FUNDS.

They need federal funds because the PRIVATE SECTOR is not investing in EMBRYONIC stem cell research, because it's a FAILURE.

The ONLY protocols that have been successful, 72 of them, come from the adult stem cell research.

Rush has more on his website about that topic too.

Bottom Line - WIN for Rush, WIN for GOP! MJFox and the Dinosaur Media shown to be the losers they are.

I think you have to call them the way you see them. Rush was right to question it. The Dims have done this several times and it's all an act to create victims and to accuse the Repubs of not caring about victims. It was either an act or a deliberate case of going off meds to produce the "victim". It's just another attempt to use Hollywood acting to justify their political aims.

So how come Rush or nobody else points out that video that Fox made a couple years back when he went out of his way to appear normal and competent

Or maybe I missed it and somebody did bring it up

I think that this recent commercial of Micheal J. Fox is the catalyst for an angry backlash against attack political ads, which in the last few years have gotten so much worse.

Rush made a mistake by insisting Fox was acting

He didn't do that. He specululated that he might be acting or off his meds, and there's a huge difference between speculating about something and insisting that something is so.

I listened to Rush the entire day he dealt with this topic. He said repeatedly that Fox was off his meds deliberately and that it was an "act". He spent almost the whole show on this and I thought it was overkill at the time. Rush had a perfectly good point to make on the use of sick people to mislead voters, especfially other sick people. I think it was a mistake to attack Fox personally. Fox is well liked and there is no question he has the disease.

Well said. Fox was definitely demagoguing the issue, and it wouldn't be going to far to say that he was deceiving the public, but Rush handled things wrong.
