I am 58 years old, and I have NEVER heard of this custom before. Excuse me if I take your information with a grain of salt.

46 here, and hadn't either until he told me of it. But then again, I'd never considered eating dog either...or fertilized chicken eggs with bones and beak...or rotten shrimp paste on mango...or monkey, deep fried grasshoppers, slugs and such. I wouldn't tattoo my face, insert little stones under the skin to create decorative bumps, or a host of other customs and practices.

There are a lot of things out there we would never do at home, but people in other parts of the world take as commonplace.

Again, I am NOT defending Webb. But what he wrote of is considered completely normal in that neck of the woods.
