WHY?

That is the question. I don't think that we can totally blame the legislators. We the people have some responsibility in the socialist slide that this country is on. 40 years of class envy rhetoric, 40 years of hand outs and gotta get mine mentality, a lazy, instant society, a very progressive stealth tax system...all lead to an apathetic society that has begun to believe that the government should take care of US. Many don't even see the socialism that they live with (and become offended when it is pointed out to them) b/c they believe that they "deserve" to get what the government can give them. I don't think that Americans, in general, like liberalism, but Americans will understand that liberalism is the way for them to "get mine"......

The legislators are the tool and they love the power, but the people allow socialism to happen.
