I read Fields of Fire a while back and although I have read countless military history books with several on Vietnam, Webb's book was the most graphic and disturbing, more so than I liked. At the time I couldn't understand why it was more like a slasher movie than good military history, especially since he was Secretary of the Navy?

Haven't read any of his stuff,
but I'll bet he writes in the
latest Hollywood scripting style.
Authors today are always thinking
SCRIPT; after all, they would have
the last say on "adaptation" rights.
