It may seem strange, but we have three snake species here in Norway. They hibernate from October to April. Only one of them is venomous, the common adder. Their bite is not more dangerous to us humans than a sting from a wasp.
Living in a cold country is not all bad. Few snakes, no dangerous insects.
..and it is a lovely place, but we have our share of snakes....really nasty snakes..
..plus other assorted critters, like alligators!...(which I've found in my own back yard, as I live on a small lake)

We could ask Alaska to send you some of their mosquitos. I understand that some of them require aircraft carriers to land on.
