Well, that is his right although I strongly disagree with him.
When it comes to folks on my side, if we agree the majority of the time, I welcome their help. And I'll tell you what, I'd rather have Dennis on our side then opposing us.
I also have a feeling he'll eventually come around on that Second Amendment thing. He's pretty new to conservatism, and it can take a while.

Anti-Second Amendment? You sure about that?
He was rabidly so once upon a time, but he seemed to wise up about four or five years ago - at least it seemed like it to me.
