when is someone going to come up with a word to describe same sex relationships / unions other than marriage?

why should they be coattailing on a traditional concept which means something entirely different?

Excellent, excellent point! Perhaps they are as uncompromising on this idea as they are on all other ideas?

You wrote, "When is someone going to come up with a word to describe same sex relationships / unions other than marriage?"

Well, HK is running for president, trying to straddle a razor-wire fence, and doing just what you suggested.

"I believe in full equality of benefits, nothing left out," she said. "From my perspective there is a greater likelihood of us getting to that point in civil unions or domestic partnerships and that is my very considered assessment."

'Civil unions' and 'domestic pertnerships' are less inflammatory terms than 'gay marriage'.
