I don't know---these were scenes in a fictional novel. There is a lot of disturbing shit people put in novels. Lynne Cheney wrote about lesbian love scenes, for example and Scooter Libby wrote about a guy having sex with a bear
my Vietnam vet uncle is a huge fan of Jim Webbs books and says they are "very realistic."
that scene with the boy being molested by his father was reportedly based on a scene Webb witnessed
the thing is, Webb should have known that his books would be used against him---wether racial slurs or disturbing scenes, just like Allen's displays of confederate memorabilia would be used against him
The only people in Virginia who might be offended by Allen's display of "Confederate memorabilia" besides the NAACP types, are the liberals in the D.C. suburbs. Both of those groups are hardcore leftist democrats anyways.
Being a big war hero and all, Webb should have busted the guy on the nose, don't you think?
Instead he grabbed for his note pad and said, "Ooo! This is good stuff! I can put this in my next best-selling potboiler!"
If Webb witnessed that child porn scene, what did he do about it? Watch it for amusement? Save the child and beat up the father? Or just shrug it off as nothing special?
