No matter what the results of this election. I honestly believe we will get back to semi civility in future elections.I think there will be a backlash for how ugly it got this year.
But, I have to say the Democrats with the aid from the MSM have used the politics of personal destruction & diversion for so long it almost forces GOP candidates to at least point out the dirty laundry in Democrat Closets.
For far too long the Dems have been smearing (usually dishonestly) their GOP opponents while presenting themselves as "squeaky clean"....Its sickening but it forces the hand of the GOP. However, I do think that America is sick to death of the Mud Mud Mud. & It will calm down by 2008. I also hope that idiotic POLLS & EXPERTS will go down in Flames after Nov 7th. (am I dreaming?)

I hope so but I wouldn't count on it. Mudslinging and personal destruction are the standard tactics of the DNC since 1992 and while the DNC could make a statment some day that it dislikes these tactics, I expect the mud and personal attacks to continue unabated in 2008. That is today's democRAT party and until the leadership of that party changes, its tactics will not change.

Nav_Mom, I think we'd all better hang onto our hats for 2008. And buy lots of soap.

thanks for the post
