Your apologia for Webb's writing seems odd considering your screen name. So be it. You also seem more concerned about what others will think of us (Republicans) than what is wrong with the passages. Is that how we determine what is right and what is wrong? Why not take a poll? Call me a prude, if you like, but the misogyny, the pedophilia, the incest, his previous frequent use of the "n" word don't inspire me to think he writes culturally uplifting novels. I don't care if I upset people when I defend decency and our culture. He's free to write garbage, people are free to buy it, but I'm also free to call it what it is. From your posts on this thread, I would tend to disagree that you are 'fine.'

If a parent would not be disturbed that a child was reading the filth in those quotes, then the parent would be shirking his or her God given duty to 'raise up a child in the way he should go.'

I find it disturbing that someone who uses his faith in his screenname is so openly defiant of God's command to be pure.....
