True, but a reader might also wonder, "What kind of mind dreams up these things?"

Well, when I replied earlier, I had not read the passage. It's a doozy. And I've never read more than one chapter of a Webb novel. I only read that because husband was reading it for a class he was taking. It was rather boring for me, so I did not read any more. I'm not into war novels. Husband liked the particular book. But husband has never been enamored of Jim Webb as a person. Webb's a bit wishy-washy.
