You cant simply close down the borders when we get hit. Thats exactly what they want us to do. If we stop being who we are, then the Terrorist win..

As for timing it before the election, yes? and? its a fact of life how elections are run... its reality... of course it was timed... 2 words... who cares. Politics is politics its how its done. The "October surprise" wasn't created in the year 6 years ago.. Every President hopes or plans for something in favor of the party in power before the election(s).

Yes I agree with you that Bush and the republicans have not been the doing very well on the border situation - however no one is perfect and Bush is not a god. He is a man, and I never judge a man by a few faults. In fact i wouldn't want to agree with someone 100% of the time because it would get boring and pretty damn stupid if you ask me. Shit, some of the people im most close to I agree with less then 1/2 the time.

That's one big ole crock of crap. Of course the borders should've been shut down right after 9-11. Closing the borders isn't stopping us from being who we are. Its all about national security and protecting US sovereignty.

PresBush has engaged in the raw politics of hypocrisy. If Bush signed off on this today, he could just as easily have signed off on it sometime right after 9-11.
