BOLLING AND MCDONNELL VOICE SUPPORT FOR MARRIAGE AMENDMENT
Bolling: Let me be clear about this there will be no unintended consequences from the passage of this amendment.
McDonnell: Marriage in Virginia must remain the traditional union of one man and one woman.
October 26, 2006
RICHMOND - Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling and Attorney General Bob McDonnell today joined together in a united show of support for passage of the Marriage Amendment this November.
Speaking at a press conference in Richmond, both statewide officeholders urged voters to focus on the central issue at hand: what form should marriage take in Virginia? They also reiterated that there is no legal basis for the claims of a flood of unintended consequences raised by some amendment opponents.
Lieutenant Governor Bolling remarked, This common sense amendment will simply give constitutional protection to the statutory laws banning same sex marriage and same sex unions that have been in place in Virginia for years. Without this amendment these laws could be struck down at any moment by an activist judge who thinks it is OK for a man to marry and man and a woman to marry a woman. That has happened in other states, and it could happen in Virginia.
Attorney General McDonnell noted, Three-fourths of the members of the General Assembly voted twice in support of placing this marriage amendment before the voters in order to protect the traditional institution of marriage. I urge Virginians to support this measure.
Both the Attorney General and the Lieutenant Governor have been active in urging support of the Marriage Amendment.
Lieutenant Governor Bolling has spoken in favor of the amendment statewide and recently ran radio ads urging Virginians to vote yes in support of traditional marriage.
In his capacity as the Commonwealths top lawyer, McDonnell issued a formal opinion on September 14th that the amendment .will not affect current legal rights and obligations of unmarried persons involving contracts, wills, advance medical directives, shared equity agreements, employer accident and sickness insurance policies, or protection under domestic violence laws.

The libs don't have much else to hang onto, other than socialism and the queer agenda. The MSM cannot get enough of it, of course. Let us hope and pray the voters this year have a little bit of capability to THINK about what they see from the libs...and vote accordingly.
A pipedream, most likely.
He's like Congress-critter Moran ~ rather be out cruising with floozies than taking care of his own kids. Just a matter of time until he gets caught too.

Washington has gone to hell in a handbasket. They stopped working for the American citizen, the ones that put them there to do a job, a long time ago. Just another example of that.
Do you have a link for this?
Thanks
Our Guv is one of those lefties who claim to be pro-life and pro-choice, anti-tax and pro-tax, pro-marriage between man and woman and anti-marriage amendment.
He must have a perpetual headache.
More "but the gays will marry if Democrats win" posturing.
