Want to spread this around so will be posting here & there this week-end.I want to add my personal suggestion. Keep your cats close this weekend thru Halloween. There are too many weirdo's who would harm your pet "for fun" & cultists/satanists who use your beloved pet in horrific ways

Halloween Pet Safety

The arrival of Halloween means parties, trick-or-treaters, and lots of delicious candies. However, some of the same goodies and decorations we humans are so fond of can be potentially hazardous to our pets. P.A.W. would like to call your attention to some common-sense cautions that'll keep your furry friends safe and stress-free this time of year. There'll be no scarey cats-or dogs-this October 31!

TOP 10 HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIPS FOR PET PARENTS

1. No tricks, no treats: That bowlful of candy is for trick-or-treaters, not for Scruffy and Fluffy. Chocolate in all forms can be very dangerous for dogs and cats, and tin foil and cellophane candy wrappers can be hazardous if swallowed. If you suspect your pet has ingested a potentially dangerous substance, please call your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435.

2. Popular Halloween plants such as pumpkins and decorative corn are considered to be relatively nontoxic, yet they can produce gastrointestinal upset should pets ingest them. Intestinal blockage could even occur if large pieces are ingested.

3. Keep wires and cords from electric lights and other decorations out of reach of your pets. If chewed, your pet could experience damage to his mouth from shards of glass or plastic, or receive a possibly life-threatening electrical shock.

4. A carved pumpkin certainly is festive, but do exercise extreme caution if you choose to add a candle. Pets can easily knock a lit pumpkin over and cause a fire. Curious kittens especially run the risk of getting burned or singed by candle flames.

5. Dress-up can be a big mess-up for some pets. Please don't put your dog or cat in a costume UNLESS you know he or she loves it (yup, a few pets are real hams!). For pets who prefer their "birthday suits," however, wearing a costume can cause undue stress.

6. If you do dress up your pet, make sure the costume isn't annoying or unsafe. It should not constrict the animal's movement or hearing, or impede his ability to breathe or bark. Keep a look out for small, dangling, or easily chewed-off pieces on the costume that your pet could choke on.

7. Take a closer look at your pet's costume and make sure it does not obstruct her vision in any way. Even the sweetest animals can get snappy when they can't see.

8. All but the most social dogs and cats should be kept in a separate room during peak trick-or-treat visiting hours. Too many strangers can be scary and stressful for pets.

9. When opening the door for trick-or-treaters, take care that your cat or dog doesn't dart outside.

10. IDs, please! Always make sure your dog or cat has proper identification. If for any reason your pet escapes and become lost, a collar and tags and/or a microchip increase the chances that he or she will be returned to you.

Please remember keep your pets safe, if you suspect that your pet has ingested a potentially dangerous substance-around Halloween or any time of year-please call your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435.

Thank you

Good Morning Dolly
Excellent points. I wondered last year, just what my dog was thinking. She's afraid of her own shadow. I was worried. At first she barked a lot. Then she surprised me and stopped. She seemed like she was so curious, wondering what the heck is going on? LOL

11. Keep your black cats indoors during Halloween as some people can be cruel to them.

Dolly's post reminded me of the vital importance of prayers for protection not only for pets who indeed look to us for all safety and provision, but for people - children, teens, adults alike - during this time.

Testimony:
One Halloween night driving down State Street in Montpelier, VT, past the Capitol, I saw a very strange sight. I could not at first believe my eyes, and it was only after a second look that I comprehended what I was seeing.

It was an almost pitch-black night, so the black-robed walkers on the green in front of the Capitol were hard to make out at all. They were walking around in unornamented black cloaks, hooded, heads bowed; there may have been 20 or more, all about 4 feet apart from one another, perhaps to cover the whole ground, walking slowly, each in their 4-foot circles. They looked like very large crows. To tell you the truth I was shocked, but in a flash of insight given it was clearly evident to me what was happening, and it was not Good.

These were pagans, Wiccans, witches, perhaps even demon-possessed persons, and they were enacting a ritual and conducting a form of prayer. It was my first experience of the liturgy of the spirit of darkness and those who (wittingly or unwittingly) serve demons. They have their powers and their prayers, too. We are in a very real war, and spiritual warfare is conducted all the time in every place - in some places (Vermont, for instance, IMO) more than in others.

Prayer:
Thank You, Spirit of the Living God, for working through Dolly and her post to remind me of what is actually at stake, and what is actually taking place during Halloween. Because You Are God, the Only True God, and because You hear us in the Savior Jesus Christ, by Whose Blood we are cleansed and justified and brought in white robes into Your Presence, with thanksgiving - Yes! Thanksgiving every day! - I come, and we come, to intercede, for we know that Jesus Christ is seated at Your Right Hand in the Heavenlies, and we with Him (though we do not see it now, we believe and are filled with glory inexpressible!) and we, we, LORD and True Master and REAL coming King, we are Your Body on the earth, and in Your Spirit we pray - as You have written in Your Word: We have the Mind of Christ!

Therefore, Good Father, we ask for Thy Covering to come upon us and all our loved ones, upon our children in our streets and upon our pets; we ask Your Hovering Protection and Wall of Holy Fire to surround and uphold and light the way of and surround and encompass and withstand on behalf of our loved ones, for Halloween and for these days and nights leading up to that specific night. We know, for Jesus has testified, that night is the time of the evil one, for Jesus said so in the Garden when they came for Him with the betrayer.

Lord, we pray for our enemies, the enemies of God and His Light, that You will send messengers and workers of Your Harvest, Ambassadors of Your Kingdom, to preach the Good News of Salvation in Christ Jesus to these who are bound in chains to the prince of darkness. Set the prisoners free, dear Lord! We pray against the lies of the evil one: that these would no longer believe the lie of "good witches" or "good magic" for the truth is that You Alone Are Good and You have commanded against these things - witches and witchcraft and sorcerers and seances and future-telling and all doctrines of demons!

We pray against the lie that such things as Halloween with all its customs are "harmless" for man is harmed by believing lies, and man is harmed by serving any save Thee. We do not serve demons, not even unfallen angels: We serve Thee, by Thy Good Will and Counsel, by faith, and so we know Your Blessing, and entreat Thee to deliver these others, especially the children, from the Deceiver and from Demons. Bring these into the Kingdom of the Son of Your Love, our Father.

Teach us, Lord, how to best serve these as they come out of darkness into light! Grant us from Your Storehouse heavenly answers to earthly questions! Grant us Wisdom from above: First pure, then peaceable, full of mercy and good fruit.

We take a stand here, Your Children of Light, robed in white and circling Your Throne, in the Name above every name, serving the King of kings, worshiping the Lord of lords, and taking captive every thought into the obedience to Christ Jesus, and tearing down the strongholds of the enemy of men's souls by the weapons of our warfare which You have granted us. We know that Thou dost hear our praises and our petitions, and we give Thee thanks and glory - Thy Kingdom Come! Amen.
