Here's the deal. Your local Republican candidate needs your support to get out the vote. Statistics from the 2004 vote indicated that voters who were contacted by Republicans were more that twice as likely to know the person calling them from the phone bank. That is powerful!
Don't shy away. Go and volunteer at your local GOP headquarters. But even you can run your own phone bank!
Here's what you do.
1. Gather together the names, emails and phone numbers of people you know will likely vote Republican (or even those who might be persuaded to do so). 2. Next, put together an contact campaign with specific dates and actions (see below) 3. Put it into action 4. Then go volunteer at your local GOP phone bank
An easy way to do this is to go to your local poll with a few hours to go on election day and look at the list of people who have voted. A list should be available showing the names of the people who are supposed to vote there, their addresses and their party registration. Look up your neighbors on the list and see if they've been marked off as having voted. If they haven't, make sure they're registered as Republicans or Constitution Party, etc., and if they are, drop by or give them a call.
Have been putting in the phone bank hours already. Vote by mail in Oregon has made the ballot chase critical. Voter vault for your neighborhood is a great way to help with GOTV. Your county chairman should be able to provide you with a list of your republican neighbors.
