I have no problem getting rid of Chaffee. If it comes down to his seat for us to retain a majority, it would be a majority in name only. Anyway, I think we should always strive to get rid of the most liberal Republican every two years (though it should have been done in the primary...).

A majority in name only still means that they can control the agenda of the Senate, and subpoena powers of the committess.

People who say it doesn't matter who controls the Senate really have little understanding on how Washingtoon works.
