Giuliani Hires Rove Aide As Fund-raiser
NY Daily News ^ | October 25, 2006 | David Saltonstall

Rudy Giuliani has hired a new fund-raiser who used to work for top presidential adviser Karl Rove - the latest sign the former mayor may be eying the White House.

Margaret Hoover, 28, made $10,000 last month as the new deputy finance director for Solutions America, Giuliani's federal political action committee, records show.

Hoover's résumé includes working on intergovernmental affairs for Rove - widely considered to be the mastermind behind President Bush's two election wins - and working for Bush's 2004 campaign operation.

Hoover, the great-granddaughter of former President Herbert Hoover, will report directly to Anne Dickinson, Giuliani's top fund-raiser and another veteran of Bush's 2004 campaign.

Giuliani has said for months that he is weighing a run for President in 2008 - a decision he recently said he hopes to make sometime next year.

Last month, Giuliani donated a sizable $105,000 to other GOP candidates and causes around the nation, including $15,000 to candidates in Iowa and $5,000 to the New Hampshire Republican State Committee - both early presidential primary states.

Rudy is coming to Iowa this week to campaign for Republican candidates. He is supposed to be in Sioux City. President Bush will be in DSM doing the same thing.

If I recall correctly, Margaret Hoover is the great-granddaughter of the former President.

Rudy running for president and winning the primary would further drive social and religious conservatives out of the party and lead to President Hillary.

RUDY is going to alot of states within the next week. Here are some of them:

Ex-NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani will spend election night with IA GOV candidate Jim Nussle, following a break-neck week-long swing through the '06 battlegrounds. Giuliani will stump for Republican candidates in SC, PA, MI, FL, NJ and MD before ending up in Iowa, where he'll hold rallies for IA 01 candidate Mike Whalen and for Nussle. (Hotline sources)

I will start working on the 2008 primary November 8, 2006 and will take all prior very early junk with the respect it deserves.

I wonder how many crums Rudy can toss to social conservatives at the last minute.

Yep. We need to continue reminding people that this is a conservative forum, not a Rudy Giuliani campaign blog. I am getting really sick of this crap.

I think Rudy would be better suited to vie for governor of New York.

He's got way too much personal baggage to aim for the Presidency. He could position himself for VP status, but considering that the VP is typically clinched to shore up the southern states, he's not exactly a shoo-in.

Rudy raised more money for conservative candidates than any of those so-called perfect conservatives in the Congress or Senate or in the Governorship. If he runs or is deciding to run HE"S NEWS! THIS IS A NEWS FORUM WETHER ITS ABOUT SCREWY LIBERALS, MODERATES OR CONSERVATIVES!

Rudy is a proven leader; nobody in either party could fight the war on terror like him. And he would draw in Independents like no other Republican.

I may anger some here by saying this, but in a post-9/11 world, his views on social issues are strictly secondary. And I am on a lot of forums with conservatives who agree on that point.

If we don't save American Civilization, all of the details of that civilization become moot. Nobody running in '08 would be better committed to saving American Civilization.

The flip side is that Rudy's baggage is all out there; it would be awfully difficult to pull an October surprise with him.

This may have been news the first time it was posted, but you and your liberal friends are turning FreeRepublic into a Rudy Giuliani campaign blog. The conservatives here detest your efforts to hijack FreeRepublic!
