America's most fiery conservative talk show host backing liberal Jerry Brown for California's attorney general?
Yes, it's true.
Michael Savage, the nation's third most listened-to radio host (and 4th most influential host according to NewsMax's Top 25 List), confirmed that he recently donated $5,600 -- the maxium allowable -- to Brown's campaign.
Brown won the Democratic Party nod and is facing Republican State Sen. Chuck Poochigian of Fresno, Calif.
"What can I say?," Savage told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I think he'd make a great attorney general compared to the other guy. By the way, who is the other guy?"
Republican Poochigian is currently a State Senator and former assemblyman who has served 12 years in Sacramento.
"You have to make choices in an imperfect world," Savage said. "And this, this Machugian guy (sic). I never heard of him. I don't even know who he is."
"Why bet on a horse that isn't going to win? Why throw your money into the garbage?"
Savage said he respects Brown's decision to start the Oakland military academy and his experience as a politician, regardless of his very liberal past.
Brown, who had the nickname "Governor Moonbeam," served as California's governor for two terms beginning in 1974. A former Democratic presidential candidate, he ran for mayor of Oakland, Calif. in 1998 and won.
"People change. He changed. He has experience," Savage told the Chronicle. . . . "He's moved to the center, which is what this socialist state needs."
As for the conservative Poochigian's campaign, they are not so angry with the Savage defection, bragging that their candidate has the backing of Bo Derek.

I have posted many times in the past that what most of the Savage critics were missing was that 'Michael Savage' is a fictional character, played by a man named Michael Weiner. I never really doubted that there was a basic sincerity on his part, but it was clearly exaggerated and hammed up.
I have also pointed out (upon many deaf ears) is that if you listen closely, after some of his signature rants, he chuckles and laughs a bit, breaking character.
This stuff should be clear to people paying attention, and yes, I like to think I 'get it' and have for a while! SAVAGE!!!!!
Honestly, after Mark Steyn knocked it out of the park subbing for Rush back in August, I'm waiting for a radio syndicator to give him a 2-hour window, a couple of hundred stations, and some publicity to give him a real launch. He'll make a fortune and immediately become one of the top 5 radio hosts.
More than a few conservative radio personalities have to be looking over their shoulder after that day!

No surprise here.
Savage is all schtick. He's as real as his name.
Savage told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I think he'd make a great attorney general compared to the other guy. By the way, who is the other guy?"

Get that man a syndicator. (Of course it will be five years before he trickles down to my town...)

That is why Steyn won't get a show. To many other guys would be out of business, and they know it.

I will not listen to hiom anymore after he lambasted "Flags of our Fathers." He missed the whole point of the book/movie.
The movie poster is kinda similar to an album cover, including how they're both colored.

Weiner is a long-time snake oil salesman, a trait he seems to have passed on to his son. His son pimps Rockstar Energy Drink, a product that is chock full of benzenes, long known to cause cancer. This poison does like 20 million a year in business and is headquartered in, you guessed it, California.
This campaign "contribution" is simply the price for "protection". Pretty ironic that Weiner, the alleged "health food nutritionist" guy, has a son that peddles the exact opposite of health food.

I agree, there must have been more than a few nervous radio hosts on August 24, 2006, when Steyn outclassed 90% of the field. In fact, I'm unsure if Rush will invite him back to guest host because of similar concerns.

Kind of like metal. A smidge here and there is fun, but a whole album and I might as well put a fork in my eye.
I'm the opposite. That's about all I listen to.

Michael Weiner has been able to make millions in book sales and conservative talk show salary pretending to be the farthest to the right of the talk radio personalities. So many fell for his schitck as being on the level. This story coming out will hopefully expose him to many more people.
In the long run, the Jerry Brown donation? Its a good thing.
To: Shady
I caught that segment of his show on my car radio, he was totally offbase on the movie.
